Carol Ann Plunkett

Carol Ann was born in Wilmington and attended St. Helena's Grade School. She received all her sacraments in our beautiful Church. Her mother, Mary Ann Peco Vari, was from one of the original founding families in the parish. Carol Ann is the youngest of five with four older brothers also all graduates of St. Helena's Grade School.

A proud Panda, Carol Ann is a graduate of Padua Academy. She completed her undergraduate studies at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia graduating with a BS in psychology. (THWND!) While at St. Joe's, she met her wonderful husband, Christopher, and they are the proud parents to three grown sons.

Carol Ann received her MS degree in Occupational Therapy from Philadelphia University (now Thomas Jefferson University East Falls). In addition to being the Director of the Parish Social Ministry Office, she also works part-time in home health care for Interim Delaware.

While her children were young, Carol Ann was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Parish as two of her sons attended grade school there. As a parishioner of SMM, Carol Ann was active in the life of the school, and she was also a catechist working with the preschool classes, First Communion classes, and Confirmation classes over the years. In addition, she was the director of the Respect Life Committee for several years.

In 2020, Carol Ann and her family came home to St. Helena's Parish. She joined the Parish Social Ministry Committee as point person for Respect Life initiatives. Carol Ann became part-time director of the office in 2022 and is honored to have the opportunity to work with the amazing PSM volunteers and to serve this wonderful parish and community.
